on introductions and gratitude
in which I briefly explain the who, what, and why
Hello there! Nice to see you in this little corner of the internet.
My name is Ana and I’m a writer of many things, including the forthcoming The Upside to Being Wrong and Music People (via Forever, an imprint of Hachette). Chances are, if you’ve made this far, you probably already know that. 😊
You also probably know about this big life update, because that’s the reason I started this newsletter. Throughout the process of writing said books, editing said books, and generally just moving through life, I found myself relying heavily on my notes app. It became a place for me to save dialogue that popped into my head while on the train or to hammer out a log line for something I was working on (alongside abandoned grocery lists and an enormous list of books I want to read). It’s also full of notes that no longer make any sense, but don’t worry–those unfinished thoughts won’t make the cut.
There’s an adage amongst authors that you should *really* have a newsletter, so here I am. I promise to keep this space less chaotic than my actual notes app. I also promise not to clog up your inbox too much. My hope/goal is to share bits of news on the lead up to publication, as well as musings on the writing process and what’s inspiring me lately. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll make you laugh along the way.
Whether we are new friends or old friends, I’m so glad you’re here. My first non-introductory newsletter will go out sometime later this month, in which I plan to share a brief 2022 recap. It has been an ~eventful~ year!!
For now I will leave with you wishes for a lovely holiday season. Thank you so much for being here.
xoxo
Ana
btw – if you’re so inclined, you can find me on Twitter, or on Instagram (where I’m more active).
